With the FireScope Data Now portlet, it's never been easier to add data to your intranet or extranet portal. Simply click on the Build SQL Query link to launch an intuitive wizard that guides you through constructing your query.

Step 1. Database ConnectionEach instance of the Data Now portlet can connect with a different database if you so choose, even different database engines. Supported database types include MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgresSQL. |

Step 2. Query SettingsNo one likes stale data. That's why the FireScope Data Now portlet lets users configure periodic re-execution of their query, which is updated via AJAX for better performance. Additionally, advanced users can manually enter their query. |

Step 3. Choose Your TablesFireScope Data Now automatically polls your database for the available tables, and offers you a simple checklist. Choose up to three tables to query. |

Step 4. Select Your Output ColumnsAfter selecting the tables you wish to query, you then see a list of their columns. Simply check the ones you wish to see in your data grid. |

Step 5. Filter Your QueryPerhaps the most difficult part of creating SQL queries is defining the Where clause, or filters that will be used to narrow down the results. FireScope Data Now: Enterprise-Edition is licensed based on the URL or address of the site using it and sold in packs of 5-URL's. For example, if you access your corporate intranet by typing 'http://corpintranet', 'http://intranet.mydomain.com' or '192.168.12.1', then all three would need to be licensed.
FireScope Data Now:Enterprise-Edition is sold for $49.00 for a 5-URL license.
The FireScope Data Now portlet is currently certified to run in Liferay 4.x and 5.x running on Tomcat 5.5 or 6.0. JDK 1.6.0 is also required. Additional versions supporting other portal architectures are currently being tested and will be made available in the coming weeks.
