FireScope Comply Continuous Control Monitoring (CCM)

FireScope's Compliance Strategy starts with consolidation. In the typical enterprise, documentation and supporting evidentiary data are scattered among dozens of sources and exist in multiple, disparate formats. Massive amounts of manual labor are required to find, collect and collate all of this information, which is why it is usually only performed in the days leading up to an audit. If all of this information could be aggregated automatically, significant manual labor can be saved while also enabling more routine - or automatic - evaluation and verification to reduce risk.

FireScope Comply enables automatic aggregation of evidentiary documentation through the use of over twenty data collection methodologies including Syslog, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) connectivity, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), Java Management Extensions (JMX), optional rich agents, web services, VMWare API integration and more. An Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) then processes all of this data where it is normalized for easier analysis.

Collecting and normalizing all of the scattered evidentiary data provides an opportunity for extensive automation. FireScope Compliance includes a powerful event analysis engine that evaluates all incoming data for specific thresholds of performance or problem indicators. These events can be associated with a specific compliance control to enable Continuous Control Monitoring.

Out-of-the-box, FireScope includes an extensive library of templates that include commonly used attributes and event definitions to simplify initial deployments. Users can also create their own Event Definitions to extend the platform for a more exact fit of organizational needs. Defining events requires no need to learn REGEX or scripting language, as all events are defined using a wizard that describes events using plain English.

Multi-Site Capable

Compliance doesn't just live within the corporate office. For organizations with multiple, geographically dispersed locations FireScope Compliance includes the ability to push data - not snapshots - from hundreds of child appliances to a corporate master appliance. Multiple message queues are used in FireScope's multi-site architecture in order to ensure the accuracy of data, and if a single location suffers connectivity issues, the data is cached locally until connectivity is resumed.

This feature enables organizations to evaluate compliance on a truly global scale. Quite often, organizations suffer from inconsistent compliance efforts conducted at each business location, particularly when data necessary to verify compliance lives at a remote location. With FireScope's multi-site capability, these inefficiencies can be eliminated, and also reduce the number of duplicate requests for information that further drive up the labor hours required to support compliance.
