FireScope Comply Analysis
All too often, organizations only conduct strategic analysis of their compliance efforts in the days after an audit is completed, after the auditor has found issues. Rarely are results from previous audits compared to identify persistent issues with compliance. As a result, most remediation projects tend to be focused on short-term fixes to resolve burning issues found in the most recent audit. By developing the ability to perform long-term analysis of compliance issues, organizations can get in front of these problems and save the costs required to apply short-term fixes for the same issues multiple times.
Long-term analysis of compliance is also essential for effective communication with, and gaining the support of, organizational leadership. Ultimately, line of business leaders care about growing the business, and often compliance costs are seen as an essential, but not beneficial, cost of doing business. In fact, some organizations compare the cost of fines versus the cost to become and prove compliance and choose the path of lowest cost. Results are the best way to communicate with leadership, in the form of prevented issues over time, decreases in risk over the long term, and cost savings to the business.
FireScope Comply provides this level of strategic visibility through its Analysis feature. Using a highly intuitive, web-based interface, users can analyze any aspect of compliance over any time range. Typical analysis use cases include reviewing the status of controls over the course of a business quarter or year, reviewing change history over time, and summarizing the results of audit checklists.
Compliance Analysis covers three areas of Compliance module in detail. First, it can look at the fields in the controls configuration and see all of the manual changes to that control, the new and old values, who made that change, and when it was done. This allows a trail of changes to the control’s configuration fields, especially critical fields such as remediation entries, event definition and attribute assignments, and the notes, which are always retained and accumulated.
