FireScope announces release of version 1.4 of the FireScope Policy Engine

La Palma, California – December 12, 2006 – FireScope, a leading developer of IT Operations software offering a real-time view of the health and security of enterprise networks, announced today the release of version 1.4 of the FireScope IT Operations Policy Engine. Version 1.4 includes enhancements and updates to expand the capabilities of previous versions that include easier editing of policy definitions as well as an intelligent escalation feature.

FireScope’s line of IT Operations support appliances has established itself as an industry innovator by offering businesses a single view into the health and security of the entire IT infrastructure, regardless of the underlying technologies of the monitored and managed devices. Configuration of policies is performed through an easy to use web interface, updated in this feature to include usability enhancements requested by FireScope clients.

Introduced in version 1.4 is the ability to intelligently prioritize and escalate issues, based on any combination of factors. For instance, a minor event identified on a single system may be configured to only be flagged as a warning, whereas the same minor event identified on multiple systems can be set to issue notification to administrators by email, SMS or other means while simultaneously initiating automatic remediation.
